Have you ever had that one boss that no matter what you do, he/she is always blaming you for what goes wrong. Well I have one of those. Let me give you some background. I work for the parks department of the city where I live. I started working in the office as a volunteer when I didn’t have school when I was 13. I worked for my boss both in the office and at the camp that he runs. I started getting paid 3 years later when I turned 16, that’s when everything went to hell in a hand-basket. Since then if there is a problem that comes up in the course of us working on a project you know who gets the blame.
This came to a head last week when I was in the office doing the work that I do before my boss gets there (you know, the kind of thing that you do so that it makes your life easier, and you don’t have to listen to him/her complain all the time that they hate doing whatever it is that they are doing). Well this job involves me going through my bosses emails, yes I am allowed to go through his email, and check to make sure that some groups were using the facilities that they were permitted to be using over the weekend. It takes me about 10 – 15 minuets to do where it would take me and my boss 30 minuets or longer. I went through all of the groups that have weekend time and thought that I got them all, guess I was wrong. Apparently there were a few already opened emails that I should have known about. I am now not allowed to do this work by myself. So instead of taking 15 minuets to do it now takes two or three times as long.
Why do bosses have to be so annoying sometimes?
